Backup and recovery, with restores tested
Your Microsoft 365 data is copied to independent storage outside your tenant. We restore from it on a schedule and record the result, so you know the backup works before you need it.
What is backed up
- Exchange Online: mailboxes, calendars and contacts.
- SharePoint and OneDrive: sites, document libraries and personal files.
- Teams: conversations and the files shared in them.
Why outside the tenant matters
If an attacker or a mistake deletes data inside Microsoft 365, anything stored in the same tenant is exposed to the same problem. Keeping the backup outside the tenant means a compromised account there cannot reach it.
Restore tests
We run restore tests on a schedule. The date and result of the last test sit in your documentation register and in the monthly report.
Recovery when you need it
A deleted folder or an overwritten file is a normal help desk request. A larger recovery after a security incident is run with the security operations centre so the cause is dealt with before data is put back.
